Question about Dansco Albums

Damn, hit the send button before I typed anything, anyway...

Just received a Dansco album I would like to fill with Morgans EF to AU. I've heard stories about sliders, are these the albums that make these sliders?

How do you keep the plastic covers from damaging the coins ??

I'm thinking about tossing the plastic, please some input

I wouldn't worry too much about "slide" damaging an EF or AU coin. A few slides of the plastic won't cause your coins to grade a point lower.

Proofs and Gem Uncirculateds, on the other hand, will require care or the surfaces could become hairlined.
  • Don't toss the plastic....especially with circ coins, the wear probably makes them not fit snugly in the holes.

Just go very slow and be patient with the slides.

All my circ. sets are in Dansco. As long as you're not in the habit of popping your coins in and out a lot, you shouldn't have a problem. I place coins in them with cotton gloved hands with the rear plastic slider touching the reverse of the coin. There's no way the front slider will come into contact with the surface of the coin that way. Then, anytime you want to remove the coin, always do so from the front of the page, gently pressing from the opposite side with the rear plastic slider still in place.

Mojo...do you have Morgans in Danscos...because of the size of the coin, there isn't a lot of room to "push them down" in the holes.

    thnaks for the guys.

Claus.... I realize that the coins are only EF to Au, but I try to handle all my coins, wether F or MS, in the same manner and that is to not do anything to further harm there appearance.

I do hate the sliding plastic, because it doesn't always slide very well.

I use gloves and push the coins down in far enough so the so it doesn't touch the plastic.
