I like B because the luster looks stronger. Could just be the photos.

I will vote for B also. There appears to be a little more detail, but this too may be from the pic.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • I voted A. To my very untrained eye, B looks too shiny to me. A looks more natural.

I might have to reimage - there is a lot of detail on A in hand.

Went for B on this one. Appears to have a bit more detail in George's hair

B all the way. While both coins show good detail - I believe B is the better struck of the two. The stops on the reverse are much more crisp as are the denticles. And the detail in the hair and beard appears to be just a touch better on B. And it appears to have the stronger luster of the two - but as noted it may be due to the pics.

A also appears to have a hit or two on the cheek directly in front of the ear.

Of course it could just be my failing eyesight image

  • Hi,

I will choose "A". I like the color and contrast between the fields and devices especially on the reverse.
    Both very nice coins.

B is a stunning coin--strong strike, bright luster. However, I can't tell if it's been dipped or not. If it has, I prefer A, which is the one I voted for because the toning seems to betray an original mint luster on the coin.

I just bought a 1930, it has the toning of "A" with the detail of "B."

I voted A even though B has a clearly stronger strike.

I happen to like the dark toning that .500 silver acquires.

Here's a reimage of A. Color of the background is artificial but the coin is not far off.
