State Quarters... overated?

The last couple of years of state quarter designs has me wondering if I should purchase any more Silver Proof Sets. The Missouri state quarter in my 2003 set is not very appealing and I'm thinking of trading that set in for other coins to complete my raw sets. The Michigan quarter was the last straw for me. Maybe I'll wait until 2005 and see what the bland artists at the mint think of next. Does anyone here agree? Is beauty truly in the eye of the beholder or are we just fooling ourselves?

I personally do not pay more than face value, I can understand them being overrated at higher prices.

I agree 100%.
Too bad though, I really got excited when they came out, and I have purchased the mint proofs and silver mint proofs from the start. I have completely lost interest in them now - and it really *is* the US Mint's fault. I am in Michigan, and while I should be excited to see some of our quarters in circulation, I am not at all. Haven't seen one yet, but when I do it will just remind me how stupid it is.
I will add this also - for me the turning point was the Missouri debacle.
