1771 Farthing Won Last Week

Won this coin last week.

1771 Farthing

Very rare date - coin is probably overgraded a notch but notice that the Olive branch in Britannia's right hand points to the letter N (acutally to the right of the N).

Excessively Rare. First one this dog's seen ..... Never seen one on Cooke's list.

The data is laid out at Colin Cooke's Page

Sweet. Maybe one made it to the colonies, and is waiting out there in the dirt for me and my detector. image

A agree that it's "overgraded a notch"- but not too badly. Doesn't look quite gEF to me, but looks like an American EF40, at least.

I would say that his photos tend to make the coins look shabby, so that's one thing in my favour. If anyone hasn't studied these before the Britannia and her shield often turn up very weak like this. We'll see.

I bet there's one in the mud there somewhere LorM. Yewjusnolook'nhardenufboy!!
