Question For 1960 - 1969 Set Collectors

I realize that certain low pop. and high demand cards are the exceptions, but what do common and superstar cards tend to go for in PSA 8 for various years in comparison to SMR?

    Vargha...

With commons, it can be all over the board. It depends if two people want that card bad enough. I have picked up some commons for 60-80% of SMR, then again I have seen some that are not hard to find go well over SMR.

I think the best bargains right now are the star cards. I have had success at getting some at 75-80% of SMR.....cards like Snider, Musial, etc.

You can pick up 1965 commons for $11-14 that SMR for $18.00 and $13-18 for the high numbers that book for $22.00. It just depends if there are new set builders buying them on eBay at the time.

My all time lowest buy on eBay was a Hi# for just under $7.00 (it SMR'd for $22).

High pop common '68 PSA 8s will often go for under $5. Check out jtcards for a selection of those starting at $3 apiece. Other than low pops, just about everything from that set in an 8 seems to go for 3/4 of SMR or less.

hi pop 1967 psa 8's are usually right around SMR, but if it aint hi pop, be prepared to part with your presidents. My impression is that the past few months have seen great new collections being built, and prices are 1.5-3X SMR. In the case of the Demeter (which is tough, but not really low pop, about 40X SMR!
