PCGS agreed that a high grade proof Lincoln I sent in was overgraded. It had spots, perhaps they developed after slabbing? I don't know. Anyway I received a check which made me whole, I would have had a big loss if I tried to sell that coin.

NGC does, and their customer service is excellent. I haven't had to use the guarantee with them, but they are very good.

PCGS also stepped right up for me when I needed the guarantee. Actually ended up better than whole since they paid market value, and I'd paid less than market when I bought the coin.

It is my understanding that PCGS is the only grading service that will guarantee copper coins. Is this still true?
