I know these pix suck, but do these qualify as a Die Break and Die Cracks? The cracks are pointed out with red arrows. The break is on the upper left side of the T. It's pretty obvious, I think, so I didnt circle it or anything. The die crack runs almost all the way around UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
They are both of the same 1921D Morgan. I would say in my unprofessional opinion the coin grades in the mid to high AU range. There are lots of die cracks on the reverse and one on the obverse starting at the inside of the first star to the left of the first 1 in 1921 and continuing left, thru the second star and stopping at the right edge of the third star.

<< <i>Hey that's a cool find. It is indeed a 1921-D VAM-1Q Pompadour T die break at the top of the T. In January, one sold for $271 on ebay in an ANACS 61 holder. You can find out more about 1921-D die breaks and VAMs with my reference book:

Thanks RJ and Wolf.
It looks almost identicle to the one in your sigline wolf....gotta be the same minting? I dont know how to ask the question...hahaha...but they're "realated"? Came from the same die perhaps?
i look forward to getting it and then REALLY goin thru my Morgans. I've had them for about 10 years now, and just now find out 1 is a "good find".
Gives me something to look forward to since I'm overseas and cant go to a dealer and talk. I look forward to the "investigation" and learning more.
If I've got the population count correct, yours would be the 18th known. Congradulations!

<< <i>Oh yes, same die. Yours looks very strong; very late die state. I have two, one is slightly early where only half the metal is present.
