I seem to running out of credible sources for new material. Anyone have a suggestion? Ebay is really turning into a scammers paradise of rerolled/re-baged coins. I bought 5 rolls of supposed OBW 1980 Lincolns and they sent me 5 rolls of 1980's in "Coin-tainer" wrappers.....Coin-tainer rolls/wrappers have only been around for a couple of years! I would have sent them back but it wasn't worth my time and postage involved....Thanks.

Does cointainer wrappers have tight ends? I was looking at the auction but the wrappers seem to be normal, although I will admit I don't know much about original rolls.

At least it was only $9.00 that you are out. You did not find anything worth submitting in those rolls? Did you look for any doubled dies?

    I forgot to say......

......there is a good online dealer of bags and rolls, but the dealer sells mostly newer minted coins, i.e. 1999 to present. I will try to dig up the link. Thge prices seem to be fair, too.

    Rampage-

No Doubled Die coins. I've never found a 1980 DDO, but I do continue to search! Stay away from any cointainer wrapped rolls. They are not original. Usually anything in them is searched. That's been my experience anyway. Would appreciate a link. Thanks

Other than Wayne Herndon, I don't know of any other original OBW guys on the net.

But hey, I did buy a mint sealed bad of 1980 cents about 3 years ago... image Haven't searched them yet....maybe one of these rainy days.

I maintain a set of mint sealed bags and obw rolls that I have accumulated since 1967. I have 3 mint sealed bags of the 1980 cents alone. They are still around but not in dealers hands. I have seen others as well.

I like to kid Wayne about every transaction I make with him. At the rate he keeps moving, I fully expect him to be living in Newfoundland by the end of the decade.image
