Morgan & Peace Vam collectors..If you found a rare vam..

Went shopping around today and found a Anacs graded(low grade) dollar with a rare vam. According to the "encyclopedia Morgan & Peace Dollars" by Van Allen it's a R7.
Should I take the book with a grain of salt or just spend the cash($200). The coin in it's condition isn't worth the asking price but because of the vam it's priced high.
Any opinions?

Which VAM is it? If it is a popular and truly rare VAM, (sounds like a 1896-0 1900-O or 1902-O micro O), it may not be a bad deal because those are truly rare and there are very few known decent examples of these to be had.
