Home PCGS Set Registry Forum

Have you ever noticed that this forum is dead compared to the U.S. Coin forum?

I tend to post over here more often then the U.S. Coin forum, and noticed that the Set Registry forum is dead half the time. I can post in the early morning after I get home from work (11P-7:30A) and come back later in the day to find my post either has no answers and/or has moved down only a handful of spots. Now on the other forum, I posted just a few hours ago and found my post on the 3rd page over.

Why is that? Is it boring on this side?

Later, Paul.

Later, Paul.

Sometimes it gets active. Just depends on how much new material the dealers get in to post for sale.

If a coin/thread falls in the set registry forum does anyone hear it.

Paul, just my opinion, but I believe the Set Registry forum was created to allow discussion among members concerning coins they have registered in the PCGS Set Registry. By design, it was not intended (again JMHO) to replace the regular coin forum or, for that matter the Buy,Sell & Trade forum. Unfortunately, some people use this forum to post whatever they want to and, I guess that is OK too. I personally find that the coin forum is usually very busy with a bunch of irrelavent messages (to me) and requires me to look at the 2nd or 3rd pages many times to find something of interest. Because this forum is not so active, we sometimes have more detailed discussions here that I find interesting. Anyway, I, and probably most of the other posters here also post to and read the coin forum and if they are interested in buying or selling, probably do the same on the BST forum. Steveimage

I think the subject matter here is more tightly defined.

don't feel bad if no one responds to your posts.

for years my participation here has been like my two former marriages: no one listened to me either, and it cost me all my money anyway. cheers, alan mendelson

This forum was created because no matter how hard he tried, one person was not allowed to sell on the US Forum (as is no other person).

  • Paul,
This forum is "For discussions about PCGS registry sets - building them, buying them, selling them, collecting them", so it's more limited by nature.
It's usually most active when Mitch (Wondercoin) has one of his contests goin'. image
A lot of registry material trades hands here in more ways than one. It's always nice to get a heads-up on such stuff, here.

After the BST trade Forum became the eBay link Forum, the BST Forum moved to the Registry Forum and the US Coin Forum became the Open Forum.

You don't want to know what happened to the Open Forum, because it will make your brain bleed
