I used our company's Nikon Coolpix digicam (I don't know the exact model, but it's a few years old). No flash, just set up one halogen lamp by a window and waited for the sun to come out. I took the images into Photoshop and did an Auto Contrast. Oh, I also remembered to take them out of the flips first.
I still can't figure out how to catch a cameo coin, but I think these came out pretty well.
