Neat item. I've seen modern belts done with domed-out Buffalo nickels, but this is obviously an older job. Maybe one of a kind? I get the impression it's from the 1950's or 60's. Just a WAG.
The rawhides in fairly good shape, though doubtless it hasn't been worn in decades.
I inherited this from my dad,who got it from his dad - Looks like as an heirloom the buck stops here.
My guess would be circa 30's/40's.
I'm bettin' it's post-WW2.
That belt looks to be right up your alley! OOPS! No holes in them, forgot about that!

Its just a gut feeling that makes me think its pre-50's.
Short of carbon dating of the rawhide I suppose it will remain a mystery.
Realistically,if those coins were 'busted out' of the belt they wouldn't be worth a whole lot
more than that - If that.
The whole package makes it unique, but the coins themselves in their poor/average state aren't
that desirable (No offence if the person who placed the winning bid is reading. I would have paid
that amount for this item).
Its the sentimental part that gets me I hate getting rid of things.
Its not like I really need the $$$ either ... I guess I'm just a goof ball.
