about the size of U.S. dime.I think it may be a 1/4 reales.is it?

    Definitely not a fake. And if it's the size of a dime, it's probably a half reale--- even though the 1 reale was
    the forerunner of our current dime. A 1 reale of the same type would be a tad bigger than a US penny.

    That is a 1/2 reale. With the smaller denominations it is the legends that tell you what the coin is. A 1 reale will have 1 R.

    Looks genuine. It is a half real as mentioned earlier. Mexico City mint.
