Cool News Story

My local news station did a segment on the SF Mint tonight. T'was really cool. They talked a little about proof coins and what goes on there. They showed the planchets and the finished product of the new nickel proofs, 2004 proof sets being packaged as well as the Iowa quarter proofs. The coolest thing, I thought, was when they showed a Mint employee actually polishing a die of the Iowa quarter proof. Report said the SF Mint returned over 6 million dollars profit last year.

They also did a very short talk about the history and touched on the 1870S 1$.
