Holy Shoots...

Been looking through my microhoard again...and I found what looked like an error coin, but I shrugged it off. Looked at the same coin a little bit more today...and at first glance the year on the penny is definately 1941, but...it's like the "1" almost dissapeared. There's no trace of wear around or near that area either; it could NOT have been ground off....I was thinking this might have been caused by crud in the dies (ala 1922 no D), but I'm not sure.

Is this a rare one? ("194" Lincoln Wheat)

No,it is not.It is most likely a grease-filled die. These are very common and most oftenly carry no premium.

The 1922 no D was caused by a die clash which was then overpolished and that removed the D mint mark. What you have is indeed caused by grease or other material filling the devices. While very cool to own, there is no real premium with them.
