Talk about mailmen....

I'm getting ready to crack open a 20LB box of Goetz medals that arrived today. There should be enough in there to keep me posting once a day for the next 6 weeks or so....heh heh

Good God!! You should see these things! Along with beautiful 58mm to 130mm bronze medals there are seven foundry trial casts in silver and/or iron. These are beautiful and guess what, I've got the only ones in existence!!! heh heh There isn't one piece I am dissatisfied with...well, there is one struck piece that doesn't fit my collection strategy but the rarity of the piece dictates that I take it.

I'll try to get one of the trial casts up later tonight or first thing in the morning. It's going to take a while to wade through these, enter them in the dB, photograph, measure/weigh, etc.

A 20lb. box could only be 2-3 of those things!image

With all of these fantastic and high value (priced) treasures you have been aquiring at a rapid rate, the FBI will be looking at you to find what bank you robbed to fund them all. I would be glad to help you hide them from prying eyes - just send me a few choice ones and I will do the rest.image

Damn! There are some beauts in this cache man (heh heh)...no, really, I can't believe that some of these are cast, the quality of the work is so finely done. There are only a couple that could have been cared for a little better in their past but the rest are museum quality. A couple stunk of PVC and you should have seen what came off...luckily no permanent damage had occured. I have learned to identify, by smell no less, the thin coating of the crap when it is present. I'll try to get an image tonight of one at least.

In addition to the individual pics, take one of the box and contents as you open and lay them out-got to be impressive. Just like christmas, eh?image

I won seven others from Stacks that aren't pictured here. These came from the same auction but via a dealer...

I look forward to the imaging and the development of what may be a high water mark in your numismatic career: The Goetz site.
