OK, that was a bit harsh. VF it is. Maybe even a nice VF. But not EF.

I try to err on the side of caution when I make snap grading judgments.

I do like it. Nice coin.

Edit: I'll say VF25.

Probably VF20 by current standards. A high end Fine by earlier standards.

All the letters of liberty are visible, but the wear on the ribbon makes me think VF30.

Lord the coin just sold, it was a BIN at $45.

The reason I was asking because I just picked up this 1895 S Morgan and this Indian was available from the seller also.

Today, I agree in the ball park with several that it would probably pull Vf-25-30 at PCGS. 7 years ago, it would have been a choice F-15, wish we were back to those days.

Maybe it is the light but the liberty does not appear to be all that sharp in the upper area. The ribbon also appears to be flat with the lower hair curl, all detail is gone. In person, it may go VF20 but from the picture, I would buy it (or bid on it) as a strong Fine.
