opinions on these 1955 Lincolns

Would anyone bother to have these graded? I know the middle one on the reverse looks to have a weak strike. And no, none of them have been cleaned....LOL!!!
Thanks all.

they look damn nice, but i wouldnt think they be worth slabbing.
as per responses, your mileage my vary.

i like the grease-filled die reverse error on the middle one.
maybe its worth a submission fee.

they could all be worth the fee if your not looking to make a buck
by turning around and selling them.

for collectors sake, sure they just could be worth slabbing.
or just keep them in air-tites.

The right-most coin is the only 66, and thus wouldn't be worth the grading fees.

The left coin has numerous small tics throughout the reverse, which is usually clean on higher grade coins. This, along with the cheek marks and shoulder marks on the obverse will hold this one to 64, shot 65 on a really good day. Don't bother.

The center coin is not grease filled, it is simply weakly struck - the lighting is causing the complete disappearing act. I don't think the actual coin shows a complete absence of detail. At any rate, it's weak enough and has enough marks on the obverse to take it down to a 64 grade, and I don't think there would be a shot at 65. Don't bother.

If the two lighted lines on the center of the collar of the far right coin are bag marks or scratches I'd grade that coin 65 based on what I can see. It also appears that there are some marks in the field beneath TRUST, which also harm the eye appeal. I don't think this one is a 66, but it does have the best chance of the three. I don't think I'd bother with this one either.

What are 65 and 66 grades in 55D and 55S Lincolns selling for right now in PCGS slabs, and what would the fee be for submitting them? As you can see, I don't follow the slab market for these. This info would give me a clear picture and allow me to close my thoughts on what you should do.

Nice coins but not worth your money to send them in. I think the "D" would probably go 66RD, much of the chatter is "as struck" so it should not count. It has nice color and good shine which most coins from from this date/MM don't. The "S" mints are cheap in 67RD much less 66RD so unless you have a gimme 67 its not worth sending in.

Thanks all, I am not real good with the small cents and I wanted a few second opinions. You have set my doubts at restimage
  • These may not be worth sending in, but believe it or not, PCGS would probably give all 3 a 66RD (maybe the middle one a 65.) Since they're rarely giving out 67RDs these days, it seems they are calling almost everything w/out carbon a 66 as a "consolation prize" unless it has a lot of ticks or is a tough P mint like 49 or 54. Although it should raise the prices of the true 67s, it does muddy the waters a bit when it comes to pricing the 66s. Some are very close to being 67s and, I feel, should be worth at least 10% of what a 67 would bring- which in many cases would translate to $500+ for any date from 1950- except for 55S. The run of the mill 66s I would price accordingly at about $15. The PQ 66s simply have to go up at some point because PCGS remains to be stingy on giving deserving Lincolns a 67.
