Grade the ACG crackout--I can take it---I hope!!!

DorkGirlDorkGirl Posts: 9,994 ✭✭✭
OK guys, here she is, my only crackout. I'll post the ACG grade later. Give me your grade and AGC's. One quick sidebar, it's amazing how all the little dings show up when you blow up a coin this large! I bought her 2 years ago, and while I wasn't a complete fool, I was a rookie. imageimage

Detail wise, looks AU50 but that nasty gouge on the cheek might cause a BB at PCGS or NGC. ACG grade? Who knows, most like MS something.
  • razorface1027razorface1027 Posts: 4,242 ✭✭
The wing tips have been spared. The gouge in the face (what appears to be a gouge by the pics), along with the flat devices, no luster, and of course the pics; I'd say XF-45. ACG probably gave it AU-58.image

    Well, here it is:

    image

I graded it xf and paid strong xf money for it. Not any noticable harsh cleaning, subdued luster, soft light toning. I bought the coin, not the holder-----thanks for all your opinions, I hope you had as much fun with the thread as I did. Beckyimage

Sometimes you get lucky with those coins, and usually they are coins that individuals sent in to be graded. If you buy these sight unseen over the internet, you are asking for trouble.
  • AethelredAethelred Posts: 9,288 ✭✭✭
If I have said onece that I hate to grade from scans, I have said it a thousand times. However, based on what I see I would grade it VF-30.

  • I think we are all being a little harsh on ACG.Even a grading company that usually grades 1-3 points off on each coin would never grade this as a MS64 DMPL as joecool said or a MS something grade as a lot of you other people said.We all know ACG isn't the worst company at grading coins.
