I have no knowledge of trade dollars at all.

Were they mass counterfieted?

Trade dollars are very often counterfeited. My advice is to buy never a raw trade dollar...

I've seen counterfeit trade dollars ranging from the very crudely done to the pretty deceptive.

Man, that guy is selling them by the truckload. I'd bet that some of these show up down the road as individual coins listed on eBay with no mention that they're fake.

These coins are very heavily counterfeited for sure...
This one I got years ago before slabbing or the MS grading system was around.
I bought it as an unc for $125.00 and its never been graded either.

I sure hope its for real....
