The 51 is a nice looking card, but was definitely not a "steal".

lol ok david i should have said "a good buy" ?
    Good for you.

  • I watched both auctions! The winner is Don Spence...I think he's putting together every baseball set (1948-59).
    Some football also.

He won a 54 topps Ford from me last month. He's winning at an incredible pace. Averaging over 10 cards a day. His mail room must have put in a special section for his incoming cards. Nice person to deal with....He's bought from everyone. 200k in the last month or so.
    I think he's from Texas...Dude will know.

Awesome cards.I was reading the S&H charges and this guy obviously does not make anything on the shipping end.I am glad to hear that the buyer is a nice guy.I would hate to see those cards in the possesion of some A$$.

    51 Bowman Mantle $15,200 S&H $2.95
    52 Topps Mantle $38,900 S&H $2.95

I wonder if insurance is available??? image

Good to see a seller of a high dollar item not trying to get big bucks on shipping.I am sure that he is quoting actual charges.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

I feel unworthy to even comment on his purchases, but they go back to issues from 1911, and they include random grades. He also won
a '51 Bowman Mantle PSA 7 in February to go along with his PSA 8.
Maybe his broker just told him he needed to diversify?
