How lucky can I get?

My local coin store recently purchased 4 collections of world coins. The boxes were set aside and I was able to go through them before anyone else. One of the collections had to be formed in the 50's and 60's as it is replete with mint state coins from a variety of countries in that time period.
I bought a bunch and they were not expensive. I could show pictures for the next month and not be done but I'll post a few at a time.
Here's a few to chew on. Mind you, they're not rare but they fill a lot of holes-lots of mint sets broken up as well...

Beautiful coins -- sounds like you got a great cheryypicking opportunity! imageimage
  • image My local dealer just got a huge collection of 19-21th century coins: lots of high grade Tsarist Rubles, Austian Thalers, German states and dozens of high grade Mexican dollars. But unfortunately I can't afford any of it. image

There's a famous story about a lion who came upon a flock of sheep and to his amazement found a lion among the sheep.
It was a lion who had been brought up by the sheep ever since he was a cub.
It would bleat like a sheep and run around like a sheep.
The lion went straight for him,and when the sheep-lion stood in front of the real one, he trembled in every limb.
And the lion said to him , "What are you doing among those sheep?"
And the sheep-lion said ,"I am a sheep." And the lion said, "Oh no you're not. You're coming with me."
So he took the sheep-lion to a pool and said , "Look!"
And when the sheep-lion looked at his reflection in the water, he let out a mighty roar, and in that moment he was transformed.
He was never the same again.

Cool find. I usually end up buying coins I normally wouldn't be interested in just because there are certain coins in hoards that have "the look."

Bill, I brought home about forty coins on the first haul for about $70. I have another box reserved with 20-30 coins waiting to be attributed and priced-there's plenty I passed over the first time through I'll be looking at again and if there are dups I'll be happy to glom onto them for you guys-just tell me what you're looking for.

Give me a couple of minutes and I'll image a couple of others that are really interesting without being very valuable but as Shiroh says:

It helps that I am interested and they do have "the look."image
