The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

    Yes, the 58-D is a NGC MS-66.

Those vampire marks look a little worse under magnification then they actually are (PCGS MS-66).

The reverse on the 58-D isn't nearly as dark as the photograph. I also like the splash of toning over the fields.

  • Great looking Washington Paul!image
  • Those are wonderful Pmhnic1! image The 50's mint set toned Washingtons are a real hit or miss proposition. They are either beautiful, such as yours, or spotty brown and ugly.
We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

Just came back as PCGS MS-67 ... coin and photo compliments of Russ. (Gorgeous coin, one slight tick on Washington's nose, super clean otherwise) image

Yes, the packaging of those Fifties mint sets created some beauties and some coins that weren't so pretty....

Nice coins, seems like 1958 was a good year, here's one that NGC undergraded by a point imo, and forgot the *
