Northwest Show report from MN..

For the most part the bourse floor was packed throughout most of the morning and continued until about 2 or 3 today...I heard it was fairly busy yesterday also. I saw a lot of silver bullion changing hands, as well as Gold, type, and Silver Dollars..Prices were high on a lot of non-quality coins..It was tough to find nice pq pieces that were within the sheet range. The market for coins is extremely hot right now and people look willing to pay. We're hoping to get a table there next year.

Ditto on Ultradmdollars report, and yes it was busy yesterday. They were turning dealers away for lack of speces several weeks ago (I was first on the waiting list). Many prices were strong for quality coins. One bargain seemed to be Saints in 65; PCGS/NGC, take your pick.

  • I sold some silver to Rex today("foodude, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about"). I thought that I had a lot in it a few months back...But thanks to the rising silver price I made a little bit..image

    ultradmpldollars,

Yes I know Rex. I sold some silver to him last night. He was extremely busy. I saw him trying to eat lunch at about 2:30 or so; it just never let up for him.

I hit the show as well, and always impressed by the all the locations the dealers come from (New York, etc.). Prices were very high, IMO. Did you vote for your preferred design for the MN State Quarter? I thought it interesting that Bill Himmelwright, who is on the committee for the MN State Quater was there, but was not selling, just showing a slide presentation for his store (downtown Mpls, in the skyway, not far from where I work).

I'm glad to have had the chance to talk to Greg both at the show and at breakfast.

I can't say I was overly impressed with the quality of most of what I saw at the show, but I did find a dealer with a group of 65 graded saints priced within reason and I bought what I thought was the nicest of the three, a 23 D for 1125 dollars.
Not 1 single barber coin in mint state that didn't look like garbage.

I might go again tommorrow just for fun.

Oh, their was a neat display in one corner with some very pricey stuff like a segs au 55 93 S dollar, the coin looked very nice for the grade.

The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
  • Hi Les,
I believe that you are probably talking about George Eggiman who had the 93-S in AU55. He has some great coins, and TONS of GSA Dollars...
