PCGS PR68DCAM Accented Hair Kennedy Half. One of only eight graded at that level, with none finer. Pulled from a proof set I bought on eBay through an early auction close.

these pictures get across the luster dripping off this little
beauty. I still think the Merc is the most beautiful US coin
ever made for circulation.

This is the 85 CC pictured in the Wayne Miller book. He told me that it is the deepest mirrored CC Dollar he ever saw. It is difficult to photograph because the mirrors are so deep.

PS: Notice the faint red spot near georges head. I"m pretty sure its a copper spot but not 100%. Many have told me it is and I agree it most likely is . The spot is more vivid except its faint here cause I took the pic in low resolution. I also did a major mitsake after I took the pic. I put scratchs near the spot to "see if it was plated". It was a dumb mistake. But I learned from and it it's still my favorite coin
Thanks, the cheek on this is incredibly clean as well. The chatter in the fields in front of Miss Liberty keeps it from going to a higher grade. Here are two other views.

I love these threads. I could spend all week at the next Long Beach show and not see half as many wonderful pieces, and I don't have to leave the comfort of home! Cool.
Picking one coin is tough, so I guess for today my icon coin will do.
Hadleydog-
That is absolutely stunning!!! Here is my second favorite-

That 85-cc you posted is simply breathtaking! I love dmpl's, especially the higher grades where your focus isn't lost on the chatter.

The 530 gram silver bar was struck with original, canceled dies for a 1884 Morgan silver dollar (obverse and reverse)and a reverse die for a Seated Liberty dime.A gold ingot representing an 1887 Coronet gold $5 half eagle has been inserted into the bar. The gold half eagle was added by soldering an gold ingot into a pocket in the bar, then stamping it. The bar was struck by authentic Carson City dies held in the museum's historical collection.
