Many Dealers Paying 5x Face for Common Circ 90% & Biloxi Show Report

Several dealers were paying 5x face for 90% silver today (Biloxi Show). Seamed like a good chance to unload some commom stuff.

Also sold an 1884-CC GSA dollar, some SMS halves, 3x1958 proof sets, 2x1976 silver proof sets, a $5 AGE, 2 ASE, a 1936-D Buff in MS~64. Added up quickley to over $500--I didn't feel like I took that much in there.

I saw little that would add to my type set. An XF45 no motto seated dollar that looked too white for the grade. I also have my eye out for an upgrade to my indian cent. The only MS65RD was a dog with a premium price tag.

We have a three day show this weekend in MN. The dealer that most people seem to sell their silver to was extremely busy yesterday and today. I hope he has a good suspension sytem in his vehicle. He was paying 5.25x face for BU 90%, 5.025x face for circ. 90%, and 1.9x face for 40%.

Were the SMS halfs slabbed? It's a very rare show that one can wholesale any moderns isn't it?

Interesting. And a bag of 90% face silver was my choice in the 2003 contest for best appreciating asset. I only missed it by 3-1/2 months. Actually at this point, the silver has outpaced the MS65 saints that won the 2003 contest at around 57%. Those same saints are now only up around 22% (time to buy) while 90% silver coins are up around 55% or so. And on December 31st that same silver was up around 15-20%.
