You just receintly started a Type set...

What would you buy...please give examples/links or pictures to whatever you feel would be the right purchase. And please include your reasoning to the purchase.

This could be fun,
Thanks,
Ray

A nice MS65 Two Cent Piece. Like, for example, this one:

One of my favorite types. Proof copper, very pretty.

  • A nice Bust half or two would be what I would get.

I tried to snipe a 1909 VDB PCGS MS66RD Lincoln yesterday...I missed it...Didn't even bid before the end of the auction image My bid would have won it too image

I'm not sure I want a copper piece, most of my collection is copper and I was looking for something different. Although I do like the Proof Indian cent.

I like the Bust Half, or any coin with Eagles on the for that matter.

I really love my proof IHC... toned, too, and well within your limit image

I`m not an avid collector of Seated coinage but I do have soft spot for them especially the quarters. I bought this one raw as a Fine+ for $26. I`m not interested in selling by the way. I bought it because I really like the look of this one.

I bought this one from a board member for $20 as a AU+. I thank the person that sold it to me as it`s a really nice example. I needed one for my Whitman Franklin set and this fits in nicely. image

  • Go for the gold, these coins really stand out in a type collection -- you can get a nice common date MS-63 $5 liberty coin for about $500. Or go for a Liberty Double Eagle in MS-62 for about the same price.
  • IMHO... I would also go for the gold. $10 Indian, say pre 1910, or the key date. This gold piece was only minted a few short years. Check it out.image
