1993 & 94 $5.00 Gold Eagles..are they worth certifying?

I would ask the dealers in this forum this question as this is not something I deal with. I was looking at PCGS'

Price Guide and see that a 93 in PCGS 69 should bring $300 and the 94, $100. I recently came across a deal and

picked up several of these, still in their original presentation cases, encased from any possible damage from the

human touch and the elements. They are in pristeesn condition as are the past issues of SAEs from all the past

years. They too are still encased in their original presentation cases-Never been touched

Do these Gold Eagles actually command these premiums? If so then that would pretty much answer the

question, right? The SAEs appear to be absolutely perfect! Is certification of these coins worth it? Thank you.image

Boom, it really depends if you get any super grades. I sent in ten $5 commemoratives to NGC. Four of those coins came back 70 and I made about 100 each on those but the rest came back graded 69 and those were about even. I forget what my total profit was but it was worth the few minutes it took to send them in. Maybe do a small sample of the best coins to see what happens first? mike image

Thanks Mike. I suppose if things go as they usually do I'd get the 70 grade across the street and the 69 here yet people would want the PCGS piece-right?image

No question a PCGS coin will bring more money but do you want to sell them now or at the end of summer?image
