My daughter's Whitman album

I worked with my nine-year old this morning on her Lincoln Cent collection. We went through about 1000 wheats and filled in a bunch of holes. The only one she needs in the 1950's now is the 55s. We spent about an hour or so - my eyes are blurry. Good time. image

It's neat; I have more fun with her Whitman album collecting than I do with my $20 Libs.

I did that a couple years ago with my two boys. Bought a sack of "unsearched" (Haha) wheaties, bought a couple Whitman folders and let them go at it. They had a blast and found really nice coins. I explain to them about grading (they basicaly stacked the coins by year and mint mark) and how they should keep the best from each stack.

Hum, I wonder what they ever did with the folders? image

another cool thing to do with kids is to take a map of the world and lay it on the kitchen table. Then take a bag of mixed cheap foreign coins and have the kids find the country and put the coin on it. I did this with a 10 year old and it was a blast. I let her keep one coin from every country she found.
