WHOOPS!!! Hit the enter key again!!
.......now to the topic. I just went into my favorites over at eBay to check some listings of a much maligned seller who also happens to be a forum member. Actually, he seems to be much maligned over here but has been moderately successful at eBay specializing in his niche market. Well, when I get to his listings page the offerings are all a denomination he hasn't centered on in the past and all are holdered by a company which hasn't been his favorite, either. So what gives?? Further, all the listings have a moderate opening bid with a slightly higher BIN and are un-bid-upon as yet.
Someone had mentioned a while back that eBay has matured as a venue for coin sales and it's logical to assume that the buyers have grown in savvy at the same time, though probably at a slower rate. My feeling is that as time marches on, the tactics or poor ethical practices of some sellers works to close the door on their sales. After all, people aren't really as stupid or naive as they oftentimes appear. Many buyers will accept a one-time-burn and loss of a coin or money but won't fall into the trap again, at least not with the same seller. This particular seller has a well documented history of abuse, ethical lapse and shoddy business practices that don't seem to have changed much over the years.
Do you think these types of sellers, at least over at eBay, eventually shut their ID's down of their own volition and reappear, reincarnated to try again?? This particular guy has vanished in the past but always come back as the same ID. It could be that things are starting to close in and his outlets are funneling to a dead-end.
I'll not mention his ID, either forum or eBay, within the thread context. But hey, we all know how to use the PM function, right!!??!!
