Churchill crown what alloy is it struck from?

Hi all,
Could some one please inform me as to what alloy the "Winnie" crown is struck from? I ask only becuase I'm being told by a friend of mine that it's a silver crown. Yet you can pick on off Ebay for $1.50 USD BIN.

copper-nickel. Or, in the style of the National Collector's Mint, it's a rare silver crown as a .000 fine coin.
