Do I wait? Or will this Bull Market continue ?

I started collecting about three years ago.
Prices were trending up and, at the time, I figured
when the stock market picked up; coin prices would level off.
I've seen stock prices reach record highs and coin prices
continue their upward climb with no end in sight.

In your opinion, what conditions need to take place for
coin prices to drop and the average collector can again
afford quality coins to complete a set ?

Should we wait for that possible correction ?
Or do we grab what's left and affordable ?

The bull market can be interrupted by various factors external to the hobby, but it would quickly
get right back on track. The only thing that's likely to stop the bull market is a leveling off or de-
crease in the number of new collectors. Even then it might be a few years before much effect is noted
since the eturning collectors and newbies are expanding their collections. There will be some interruptions
and eventually an end to it, but most would be well advised not to wait unless there is no other option.
There are always series and areas that are overlooked or undervalued in numismatics and exonumismatics.
Just keep moving as the market catches up with you.

Demographics strongly suggest coins will be in a bull market for next 10-15 years. Its a hobby dominated by males. Baby boomer males with disposable income will be a driving force in the hobby for the foreseeable future in my opinion.

  • Buy what you like, regardless of the market. Dollar cost averaging works with coins as well.

Of course, since I don't seem to be able to part with any of my coins, it won't work well for me....

See cladking and Greg's posts. While prices may level off, or rise less sharply in the future, I don't see them going *down* anytime soon except perhaps in certain niche areas.
