    I see that Mr. Branca is the current high bidder on it.

    Interesting listing... the price staggers me! I recall two Jackie Robinsons from this set up for auction in the past 6 months. One was an 8 and the pther a 9. I placed bids on both... the 8 ended somewhere around $75 and the 9 ended at less than $200... does anyone else out there remember these auctions? Has someone caught onto this set since then?

    win;

    I agree on the RC. But still a PSA 8 at over $800 (and the gavel hasn't fallen) versus a legend in PSA 9? The price of one of them has to be off! My guess is it's the Koufax... after all, it's just a darn stamp!

    1955 Golden Stamp Book
    I agree with you guys, this seems expensive - although in this book the stamps have fused to a page, I have seen them OK for in the few hundred range.

    I think it's the Koufax factor - he's one of the few guys, like Clemente, with a huge emotion factor - price doesn't surprise me....

  • I think I saw 3 of the Golden Stamp books with mint stamps in them at the last Fort Washington show. Prices were $150 to $250 for the whole book. I used to have a book myself, complete with stamps. If the stamps are still in them they are usually in mint condition since the book protects them. I think the PSA population is low because no one thought of getting them graded before, but they certainly aren't rare.
