I was going through some raw Morgans and came across this one, which I placed in one of the Coin World holders. What do you think it grades?

Nope, I think if you wanted to see this coin graded as a 66, you would have to go to ACG, NTC or PCI.

MS62 and I like the toning... it looks alittle rough for 63 but perhaps I am a more conservative grader than I thought.

I'm one of those that went AU.
The chest of the eagle keeps me from MS.
Maybe the image or my monitor, L I don't know

This was interesting.. the highest number of votes came in at MS62 which is exactly what this coin grades. The marks on the cheek are not as bad as they appear on the coin.

Here is another raw coin out of my rainy day fund, I also grade this as a 62, though most of the chatter that causes it to go 62 can't be seen in the image.

These coins are not of a grade high enough to warrant the cost to get slabbed, and I don't dare try to sell them online. I'll hang on to them for the time being, perhaps at some point will take them to a show to sell.

Nice Morgans, K6AZ. I like the toning on the first one. Now I know who my competition is in the Morgan registry sets.

Thanks Dan. With the deep pocket dealers listed multiple sets there, I don't think I'll ever crack the top twenty. It is a convenient way to store the certification numbers and images. I will be filling a couple of the more difficult holes soon, so I should be able to move up a few places.
