Email from EBAY?

Just wondering if anyone else got this...and if they think it is real?

It really went into buying cards vrs re-selling...I got nervous in the middle and bailed out...who knows these days.

Any Input?

That don't look like eBay to meee! I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't trust it for a second jp. One of the things eBay says to watch out for is the way the greeting reads........eBay will say Dear John or Dear Mr architectus rather than dear ebay member.

    my 2 cents

    Did I leave anything out?
  • Crap....It seemed so real..I am pretty computer savy and I went pretty far along. It never asked me for personal
information as far as credit card, SS #, like the others do. Like the ones that tell you we need to update your
    account etc...

I guess there is someone out there to prey on anyone in any situation.

    Thanks for the advice!

I got the same email, and forwarded it to spoof@ebay.com . It came back that the email was legit (for once!). If you are still concerned, I'd suggest forwarding the email to them as well, just to make sure.

Yeah, I've received this before and thought it was legit. So long as it doesn't ask for passwords or credit card info I think you're OK.

I got about 7 minutes into the survey and gave up. Really boring with no promise of a golden prize at the end, so I said forget it. eBay gets enough of my support in the way of fees.

  • I have received this email and responded. I also sent it to spoof. This also shows that eBay will look at what is sent to them and not just send back the same warning every time.

I never respond to anything from "Ebay". I figure they can call my if it is a life or death situation. Plus they have all the info they need from me if it is legit. I don't want to tell them anything that they don't already know.
  • jparchitectus, those emails are from people trying to hijack your account by getting your password. Depending on how far along you got with that session, you might consider changing your eBay and Paypal passwords ASAP. That did happen to me, and I did fall for it. But fortunately I caught it right away before the other guy did any damage. I will NOT fall for that again, and would hate to see anyone else get burned!
