Wilson Franks collectors ...

I was just talking to David Hobson of Game Time Collectibles who is meeting a gentlemen tomorrow to pick up 17 MINT cards that were never put in the packs. He is buying these from a guy whose father worked at the factory, and these were given out. He said he has two Campanellas, Feller, and Slaughter, and a few commons.

They are going to PSA on Monday so stay tuned.

  • AWESOME. Too cool. Definitely keep us posted!

I'm still curious what happened to that guy that was going to get $50k from his sister to 'invest' in cards....

I'll bet they go for less than the Mastro set did, now that the deep pockets guys (with the exception of Murcer) have their sets.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I do not have the money, but it seems like a pretty good find. He was a good guy to talk to and will be able to help on my 52 Bowman set.

1420- I am very interested in upgrading my set. If he has any that would upgrade my set, please have him contact me. I would be interested in paying him cash/trading my lower grade or just buying them straight up. Let me know by emailing me at Shaneleo@aol.com

    Thanks,
    Shane Leonard

The more Wilsons, the more chance I have to get what others don't want anymore. Maybe I should call my collection "The Shane Leonard discard pile" image

Looking forward to them thanks 1420!

onegoucho - sorry I have been so busy, I will try for next week.

David just called and said that these cards look nicer than reprints - no stains and absolutely perfect. He is debating on whether to eBay them or send them to Mastro.

Dang, Neal -- those are super duper nice and centered oh so well! Please keep us updated as to how they fare at PSA
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Outstanding examples that will clearly grade quite high. Now that's a find!

wow, those are incredible. I'm betting 7's and 8's. Wonder how they'll fare.

  • WOW!!
    Those are sweet!

The SMR simply cannot keep up with these cards. I don't think a PSA example EVER sold under SMR. (save for maybe a nine, which they shouldn't even list)
Heck, a Feller in a five just went for $670.00.

    1420, please keep us posted.
I would ebay them, you get the money quicker, and you don't pay 15% (which is serious cash, once those get graded).

To hell with all that bother, just send them to me! image

Thanks for the scans, they are beautiful. Do you by any chance have a list of the cards he got?

Mastro is higher than 15% because of the buyer and seller premium. I would bet that some non Mastro auction houses would wave most if not all of the seller premium to get these cards. But I would rather see them anywhere but Mastro since I don't want to shell out the $75 application fee for the honor of bidding in their auction.
