I have been wanting to pick up a set or two of these. From what I have been seeing on Ebay a good buy would be around $65. Most are going for $70.

Anyone know the issue price on these?

    Thanks

Trooper... I believe the issue price was $30 on both the 1994 & 1997 Coin & Currency sets.

There was a 97? I never knew that. Was it the same as 94, coin and currency for the nickel?

    Thanks

Trooper... The 1994 had a fairly high mintage, but the 1997 had a mintage of 30,000 and is a high dollar set Bid $175/ Ask $185.

Anyone got one of these, 1997 (Coin and currency set)...The nickel is a matte proof correct?

    yes they are both matte.

I have 1 of the 70 PCGS SMS MS70FS 1997 which was a 25k issue and is rarer than the
94 which was over 100k I think if memory serves correct.

I don't know but I have the '94 matte in a PCGS MS 69 holder and its a very nice coin. I overpaid. Coin Prices used to have it at around 200 or 250. The '97 is probably twice as valuable as it had a real small mintage.

The 1994 CC set originally had a low mintage, but the mint forgot to mention the mintage cap in the advertisment. When the mint sold out alot of collectors who missed the boat cried foul because the mint's ad did not mention the mintage cap. The mint lifted the mintage cap and sold as many as the collectors would buy that year. I think the mintage is a whopping 167,000 on the 1994 set.
