Is that Heritage pan/zoom feature really useful, or just a cheap gimmick?

I know some other coin sites use it, as well. Don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty neat. But is it useful?
The close-ups you get are no better that what you would see when viewing close-ups in the standard mode. And the super close views get blurry, just as if you saved and enlarged the standard view.
So what is the point? No big deal, really...I've just been thinking about this (intermittently) for a while, and I'm curious if anyone wondered the same thing as I.

Yes, but it just shows little tiny chunks of the bigger picture, which you can view as a whole by turning this silly feature off. It's not like you've really got a coin microscope at your disposal.
My verdict: Cheesy

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I don't know why this "feature" bugs me. Maybe I should bring it up to my therapist

I think it does, if you click 2 or 3 times.
