O/C question

if i have a PSA graded OC qualifier, what is the average drop in grade when selling? i.e. if i had a 9OC graded card, would this be comparable to an 8 or 7 or does it depend on player, year, etc...? just curious if i should fool with submitting oc cards to be graded?

There really is no set standard to that. The OC qualifier affects each particular card price a different way. If its a $400 card in PSA 9, then go ahead and submit it with the risk of getting an OC. Its probably not worth your while to send in something you know is off centered and does not have much value even if mint.

The drop in grade is 2 points, the drop in value depends on a few factors. If it still has eye appeal, is it a star, etc.

If the centering is borderline, you might be better off using SGC.

Look at the set on ebay to see the drop in sales prices for OC qualifiers. Depending on the set, qualifiers normally knock vintage card prices down 1.5 to 2.5 grade levels (e.g., a 9(OC) would be priced somewhere between midway between 6NQ and 7NQ prices and midway between 7NQ and 8NQ prices). Again, this is highly dependent on the particular set.
Qualifiers on modern cards are the kiss of death. Don't submit them.
