Something just doesnt seem right........

Course it could be my vivid imagination, but lets see.

I sell off my ENTIRE (10 YEARS!!) Showcase inventory on March 5th. Then come March 16th I realize I still have a 30 year sportscard showcase to sell and they were both my ENTIRE COLLECTION.

10 year ENTIRE COLLECTION

My newly discovered 30 year ENTIRE COLLECTION.

  • haha if you do a search under "card shop inventory" or "sportscard collection" you'll find out that the same people run the auctions weekly...w/the same lines (i.e., "childhood collection", "lifetime collection", "great attic find", "just bought out a sports shop" etc.). key is to look for the blurry pictures...and ask yourself why they're selling it as a lot v. individually

Well I just bought two lots and received them, jjust as described. Guy bought out a shop. But to say you have your ENTIRE collection for sale one week and the next week use the same "tagline" is just a little wacky. I emailed them asking how they could sell their entire collection one week and find another "entire" collection to sell the next.......

Doesn't "ENTIRE" mean "The Tire" in French? Perhaps that was a part of his collection that he referred to as "The Tire Collection" in French.

That's just a bunch of crap!! Let's just take a contract out on the guy! It kind of reminds of the store by my house that has a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE about every 3 months! Or the stores that seem to always have CLEARANCE sales - what's that all about! Let's see the 1st one was with a 10 yr. life's collection; next was a 30 yr. life's collection; next one should be either 50 yr. life's collection or it could be a Minus 10 yr. life's collection??????

  • Personally I like the reason he has for having private feedback:

<< <i>I have had PERFECT FEEDBACK my entire Ebay lifetime until last October when I sold two large auctions to "Dead-Beat" bidders and never got paid. Not only did I lose my trust with people paying money, but for the first time ever I was brave enough to leave negative feedback on the non-payers. I was soon returned with "retalitory" negative feedback. I took a break from selling for a while, but I have recently started selling again. I just found out that Ebay can sometimes remove "retalitory" negatives, so my feedback is private until they are able to do so. Sorry about the long, drawn-out explanation. Here comes the auction >>

Please.....this fool probably has more negs than I have positives (I have quite a few). Why would you keep it private for only one neg from some jerk-off that didn't pay you?
Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.

To me, and I am just a novice to "the boards", it is all the more reason to list what ya got and ask for what ya want on this forum.
I think that is probably the original intention of these forum boards.

Trust should be built up amongst us as trade partners......whether we are hobbyists or it is our bread and butter.

With all due respect to the tenured members of the forum, I am not really intersted in seeing what some knucklehead has listed on Ebay....the bad deals and stupidity are out there for all to see. If someone wants to link/copy the board for an opinion on one, I think that is OK and proper.

I do appreciate a posting that draws attention to a good listing, or a listing that assists another member in the forum that has expressed a particular interest in something.

    Just my opinion. Regards.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

<< <i>IN FACT, YOU COULD PROBABLY WIN THIS AUCTION, AND RELIST IT, AND DOUBLE YOUR MONEY!!! >>

Steve - you just went to the core of the problem - this guy wraps his entire mode of operation around the concept of integrity and turns around with this sophomoric come-on about doubling your investment.
Well stop the turnip truck cuss I want to 1. BUY this lot. 2. RELIST IT. 3. DOUBLE my money. Wow, why did I bother to go to college.
