Credit Card Promo - Free Morgan!

No, not a sequel to "Free Willy." It's the promo on the return envelope I received with my latest credit card statement. They're giving away 1921 Morgan dollars, for just $4.95 s/h. How low grade are these coins? What kind of holders are they in? I suppose it's worth $4.95 to satisfy my curiousity.

Who cares. The $4.95 cost is less than current melt value.

with silver at $7.43 is that true? image
  • $7.43 per oz Ag * 0.77344 oz Ag / coin = $5.75 silver in a Morgan

Here's the toll-free number to call to reserve your "free" 1921 Morgan:

    1-800-553-0325.

Let's see how many raw 1921 Morgans show up on eBay in, oh, 6-8 weeks.

What company is providing these free Morgans? You may find that you are signing up for approvals from Littleton as well. This sounds a lot like one of their promotions.
  • The promo refers to the "American Historic Society" and the company is "National Consumer Marketing." I imagine your information will wind up on many marketing lists if you order.

    Oh, gawd!
    The "American Historic Society".
I have never seen more polished coins in my life. The holders are worth more than the coins.
In this case though like Russ said, the melt value is more than $4.95.
Problem is, do you want to be on their mailing list and whoever they sell it to?
The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.

    Got quoins?
  • I haven't ordered one. The questions is whether the $5 (perhaps) that you could make by reselling it, or the few dollars you can save if you take this offer instead of buying from a dealer is worth being on every marketer's mailing list.
