What is going on here?

This person (with good feedback) has this nickel up for auction.

1968-D Jefferson

Poor pictures. The scan looks like the scan on this other nickel he has up for auction

1964 Jefferson

What do you all think?

  • My question is why would anyone bid over $10 on a blurry picture.
Someone's going to get ripped off on both these auctions!

The reverse pics are the same on both coins. You can match up the highlights and a few nicks above and to the right of the dome.

He could have just uploaded the wrong image, I would drop him a note if you're seriously interested in either coin and ask.

I have asked and was given a diffuse answer. I also asked specifically (again) what the step count is, and if he had a return policy. Still no answer.

The no answer is your answer.

The steps do not look like 1968
They look like 1971 steps to me

    Wow,

It sold for over 600.00! Can't wait to see the feedback on the coin.

    I'd guess 1974, though there's little difference.

  • The bid history is the same guy raising the bid by $100 every 30 seconds!! hhaha What a joke!
  • All I can say is WOW for a coin that is not third party graded. I wonder??????

Not even worth wasting the time to bother with it. Shill bid, waste of time images, on a couple of 5 cent coins.
