Question re: ebay fees

Hi all-

Can someone tell me exactly how ebay determines how much to bill you after an auction closes? For example, you put up a card with a 40 dollar starting bid, and the card ends up at 55$. Do you pay the $1.20 for the listing fee AND the $2.10 for the final value fee, or do you only pay the listing fee if the item doesn't sell?

It's a little embarassing to ask this, since I've been screwing around on ebay for three years now, but I've never gotten to the bottom of this and for some reason I'm suddenly curious.

Thanks,
Guy

  • You will pay the listing fee and the final value fee. The only way you would not pay final value fee is if card doesn't sell or if buyer doesn't pay, then you can request a refund of the final value fee.image
  • Your listing fee is $1.20 + final value is $2.135( $25 = 1.31, $30 = 0.825)

If previous item did not sell and you relisted the item and the relisted item was sold, ebay will credit the listing fee in your account. If relisted item was not sold you don't get credit.
