An unheralded beauty - Smithsonian Commem

I had never paid much attention to late date Modern Commems other than to note that they were coming in droves, but there are a couple of them that I find very attractive, among them the Smithsonian Commem, and in particular I find the reverse of this coin very pleasing - post your favorite late date Commems!

I have one of those I paid retail for because it had a strong strike and I love the design...FC57Coins, I never knew we had that in commom. Frankies too! now modern commems.... You been getting enough cigars lately?

But your right certainly better than the Unice (SP) Shriver medal (shudder) Why did not we just commemerate the wicked witch!

You're right - where it comes to modern commems there are some really nice ones, and some that leave something to be desired. The '83 and '84 Olympic issues, the Botanical Garden, the Law Enforcement, and the Buffalo are among my favorites.

The 1989 Congressional is also a cool design. Modern coins take some hits around here but they do get it right sometimes.

There are some nice modern commems, I just can't get too excited about them. I like the congressional and the Olympic stadium ones.

I do own that $5 constitution commem Cladiator and Its my fav $5 gold commem design hands down. The $1 congress is a great design too!

Im a strong buyer of modern commem in thier orginal packaging with papaerwork....Let me know if your tired of yours!
