Puking.........

Sorry but thats what almost happened. You guys may be "old hat" with this stuff but this is the first time I have spent this much money on an auction. Hell my first car did not cost this much.

So is anyone in the market for some football singles?

    Jason,

I will (in the next few weeks) probably (after my wife stops beating me) organize them all and make a post asking people for their interest.

If you want to PM me or email in a week or so feel free. I bought them to "resell" them and will definitly let the board members here get first "crack".

    Aknot, congratulations on your purchase.

Did the lot come with an SP Authentic RC of Peyton Manning?
  • AknotAknot Posts: 1,196 ✭✭
    Ranch,

From the looks of those pictures I would suprised if it didnt. I really dont know. I know I saw SOME Manning rookies (well at least 2) but I cant be sure till I get them in my hands.

Jim - you are a real trooper - good luck - looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you - yes, if you didn't confer with the little lady on this one - WOW! Back in 93, I bid on about 8 lots - with Greg Manning Auctions - placed minimum bids and walked away - thought if I got one or none I'ld be lucky - got ALL eight and a bill for $5300!!! My wife was bananas!!! Go get the roses, say yes, dear a lot, and a lot for a few days - do everything w/out being told - tell how great she looks and then spring it on her!

    Aknot,

I think your going to have to change your signature line to..."AKNOT - Enjoying the hobby 100,000 cards at a time".

Since this thread should be getting plenty of views, Playball has a lot of very nice 1940 Play Ball PSA cards up on eBay right now. Some of these cards have only 1 or 2 higher or equal graded examples that are not presently in registry sets.

  • What's really going to cost you is having to add on a rooom to keep all of those cards. The purchase price will seem like peanuts.image

Your wife has spent that much money on something.....but never told you. That's the difference between men and women. Whether it has been your wife or your mother.......you have been programmed to have the guilt trip.

Hide the bill and move forward boldly to the next purchase!!!!

Well I figure one of two things is going to happen.

Im going to be real busy sorting cards for the next couple of weeks.

    or

Im going to be in jail (or hospital after my wife is through) for the next couple of years.

I hope this guy renews my faith in the human species. His "pics" are down off the auction, BUT I always save the page of all the auctions I win.... image

O well do my Police entrance test this Saturday, so I will be pumped come Monday/Tuesday (my expected Deliv date) to take a day off and drool over my cards.......HOPEFULLY.
