PCGS and MS-70

What's PCGS's stance on perfection, i.e. PR-70 and MS-70? I recall someone saying that they don't give MS-70 because they consider it an impossibility, yet in their guide to grading and counterfeit detection, they have a photograph (Sorry, the page number slips me) of a morgan that they describe as MS-70. Does anyone have the answer?

  • PCGS does grade coins as MS-70,though not as commonly as lesser MS grades. To answer your question about an MS-70 Morgan,I don't know of any that are graded MS-70 or PR-70.There are several examples at MS-69 though.
  • They are probably only allowed to grade a very few coins MS-70, with many 70 coins ending up in 69 holders after the "quota" is met.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."

Needs to be perfect with 5 power magnification.
The online pop report for ms and pr morgans only goes to 69 so if there are 70's they don't have a place for them in the online version.

no Morgan has ever been graded ms70 or pr70 by NGC or PCGS and never will.
