IS THERE A GOOD WAY TO CRACK A COIN OUT?

Thinking of cracking out my quarter indian.
Any suggestions ? Can I damage the coin?

Being an electrician, I just take my side-cutters (linemans pliers) and wack around the edges of the slab!

Hammer has always done the trick for me. Just watch where you are whacking!

You can use a hack saw and cut around the coin. Leave plenty of space between the blade and the coin edge.

I use a band saw around the edges. The halves come apart very easily. Then the trick is coaxing the coin out of the hole. Sometimes they're seated in there pretty tightly, especially in NGC slabs.
