What is the best way to sell a collection, without looking through every card.

I have a collection of cards that was given to my son, All different sports cards , all different makers. A neighbor collected cards , after she got divorced kept this, part of his collection and gave them to my son. Many are in the soft plastic sleeves, some in hard plastic. He had prices on many of them from 10cents to a couple of dollars. some are mounted on wood in hard plastic. I collect coins and really don't have time to go through every card. I did sort the basketball cards alphabetically a couple of years ago and that was enough for me . We would like to sell them, what woud be the best way to maximize our profits? There are about 4 full 16 x16 x10 inch boxes about 3/4 full.

Might be worth your while to look through them for "star" names in all the sports.
If you go to ebay you might want to break them out by sport; sell all the baseball as 1 lot, hockey another lot, football & basketball. That way you'll attract fans of that sport.
We would be interested in all the hockey you might have. Let us know what years they are from & if you want to work a trade or sell
them outright. We would also be willing to help you with BVs on it.
PM us & let us know.

References:We have traded with many traders on this forum. We can provide list on request.
If you list a 1,000 card lot and state "Includes Favre, Brady, etc.", the buyer
has no idea if he will receive 2 or 3 Favres and a bunch of commons or if the
lot contains a qood quantity of star cards.
If it states " (40) Favres, (35) Brady, (60) Marino , (35) Moss , etc." its all
but certain you will receive more bids.
