Why does collecting nice Lincoln cents always have to be about the money? Isn't ownership of a nice collection worth something more than a high PCGS slab grade that you want to sell as quick as you can to make a quick profit while the market is "hot". To me, this hobby is a long term fun adventure where value is there. Trying to cash in short term is to me just making coin collecting no different than investing in the stock market. Using PCGS slabs as the vehicle to make money based on some grader's evaluation of your coins is not what collecting coins should be about IMHO. I KNOW many here disagree, but that's how I feel. • Real nice! How did you squeeze the business strike designations on the 1965-1966's?

They ALWAYS give me SMS designation!

  • Steve, I couldn't have said it better myself. I have an opulent 1956 PF Lincoln cent sitting right here on my desk and it is not slabbed. I enjoy this coin for it's beauty, not because the folks in Newport Beach or Sarasota have designated it a 67 or 68.

I don't submit the coins I collect. In fact, I submit stuff I *don't* collect, to make some extra scratch to spend on the stuff I *do* collect. The only clipped cent I ever owned in a PCGS slab was freed within three hours of its arrival. image

Edited to add: P.S.: Nice grades on the Lincolns image
Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.
