52 Topps Mantle RC PSA 9

The rumors out.Talking to a guy as I write this that found an old "TREASURE CHEST" in granpparents attic.It's insane what he's telling me that he found inside.Sealed boxes of many vintage cards.Pulled among other cards a 52 Topps Mantle RC.Recently graded a PSA 9.He's telling me that it's 2 grades higher than any other 52 Topps card.From what I understand a PSA 7 goes for $60K ballpark,is this correct?Says the lowest price he'll entertain is $250K He doesn't want to go public that he has it.Says he'll be swamped with people consistently and relentlessly for it.If he sells it he wants it to go to an avid collector and not someone who will either throw it in eveyone's face saying'look what I got and you don't' or that wants to wheel and deal it.
How much would you pay for the card?He has allowed me to act as a middle man to get the word out and entertain offers.This isn't any BS,this is a very high dollar card and only very very serious should respond.I also don't want to be swamped with the non serious.Once someone has placed a serious enough offer and some background,you will be placed in direct contact with card holder and then it's bewteen you two. I'll try to revisit post every so often,but will leave my email address.

For 250K I would expect 4 MINT 9's. A 10 would probably not bring that kind of dough in this market.

You tried this on the Beckett Boards as well. Next time you want to go ripping people off, do some homework.

1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Population Report:

3 10's, 2 9Q's, 5 9's, 7 8Q's, 27 8's, 6 7Q's, 61 7's, and so on.

SMR on a PSA 9 is 85,000, and the last PSA 10 sale at auction went for $275,000.

I am no expert on the Mantle rookie, but I knew that 10's existed, so this "friend" does not know what he is talking about that his card is two grades higher than the next best one in the pop report.

Grandfather's attic? Please, that is so old right now, especially with the people we have on these boards. A PSA 9 Mantle is a PSA 9 Mantle, no need to mention whether it came from a grandfather's attic or a card show.

"friend" wants to remain out of public? He could sell the card on ebay or vintage card auction. He would not have to show his face. The people on these boards are the same people who bid on ebay.

I think you are going to get swamped with a lot of emails now. People on these boards are like sharks. Soon as they sense something fishy, they go on a feeding frenzy.

Friendly advice: Tell your friend to get his facts straight. Buying and Selling is not done in this Forum, there is another Forum for that.

update...I have received many emails regarding my info as being false,untrue,bogus and incorrect.I had no reason to disbelieve the person who gave me this info.UNTIL NOW!!Apparently there are a few 8s,9s and 10s.I am embarrassed and look like an *ss by not verifing what I posted as FACT.I have shown bad judgement and irresponsibility in my post.I apologize to the board members for this.I will also take this up with that person.
